导演阐述Director’s Explanation:
煤挖光了，矿废了，山采空了，村子废弃了，人自己就走丢了。
枯藤老树昏鸦，
小桥流水人家。
古道西风瘦马，
夕阳西下，
断肠人在天涯。
本片试图通过将一起真实的失踪事件意化到元曲名家马致远这首著名的小令 。
Withered vines, an old tree and dusk crows
A small bridge, flowing waters and houses
An ancient road, West wind, a gaunt horse
The sun setting in the west
A heart-broken man, at the end of the world
Based on the famous ling, song-poem, titled, ‘Sky Clean Sand: Autumnal Thoughts’, by Ma Zhiyuan, a well-known composer of yuanqu (Yuan-Dynasty song) in ancient China, this film is adapted from a real story of someone gone missing.
The world we are in is a mixed and disorderly one and, for us, life always seems helpless and ambiguous. However, we, stuck in this complexity and ambiguity, are so constantly driven by desires that are beyond our control that we entertain stupid thoughts of trying to explain all this and to change this world. Sometimes, even a bewildering incident involving someone gone missing may cause the self-important of us to be lost, without finding the right directions.
Insatiable desires of human beings have rendered the world barren, in which, we, lost, search in vain for an answer.
剧情梗概Synopsis
大踏带着长白、喻为和小蛮子穿过北京西郊的矿区，进山去寻找失踪的朋友别雷。别雷失踪已经半年了。他们沿着京西古道在山间一路而行。晚上四人点起了篝火，大踏带头唱起了别雷最喜欢的歌。在歌声，或者说是在别雷的感召下，喝得晕晕乎乎的小蛮子一个人离开了……
Da Ta, together with Chang Bai, Yu Wei and Xiao Manzi, go through the mining area in the western part of Beijing, in search of Bie Lei, their friend gone missing; Bie Lei has gone missing for six months now. The search is more like a visit. They travel along the Ancient West Peking Path. At night, the four set up a bonfire. Da Ta takes the lead in singing a favorite song of Bie Lei’s. Affected by the song or by Bie Lei, Xiao Manzi leaves alone, drunk.

高子鹏，1998年毕业于北京广播学院，曾先后于甘肃电视台和中央电视台工作。近两年开始致力于民间独立影像的制作。曾制作纪录片：《沉默之旅》（2003），2004年南京中国独立影像年度展（CIFF）；《饭盒》（2007）
剧情短片：《渐》（2008）；2008年南京中国独立影像年度展（CIFF）广阔天地展映单元。
